All over the world ..

We are all indulging in something!

Drink from "some well" as Jesus stated to the woman at the well, because we all do!

Ahh! This the Lord laid heavily upon my heart for the nations at the beginning of this year.

I should like to pass the word along, as it is out of obedience that I do so.

Prepare, prepare ... for the PRESENCE of the LORD!!

Drink From This Cup!

So many "cups" to choose from in life, on a daily basis. Don't you agree? Or do you even relate to those words?

Passover? Easter? Resurrection Sunday? What true meaning does the "cup" bear?

Oh, the "cup!"

Oh, the "cup" enjoined to Jesus!

Years ago as a songwriter attracting many other songwriters unto myself, I had the privilege of working for a very short time with a young Christian man who had written freshly, a song titled "The Real Thing." The hook-line in this particular song (as all songwriters relate to as being the essential for a successful song) went like this, "Everybody wants the real thing. No one thrives upon illusion. Everybody wants the real thing, the real thing."

That tune comes to me now, as I ponder the "communion of the cup" that Jesus spoke of within Biblical text. I believe that there is, as every subject creates an opportunity for, much misinterpretation and much Holy Spirit Word based enlightenment, missing from this (if you will) religiously upheld and practiced ceremony within the Church.

So, what is the truth surrounding Jesus and the cup?

The "cup" in scripture:

There are fifty-nine verses in the Bible which speak of a cup.

Scriptures ...

These scriptures begin in Genesis 40:11 and ...

... are scattered throughout the Bible, with the last verse being found in Revelation 18:6.

Their Hebrew and Greek definitions are as follows:

... bowl, cup, pot

... original sense of containing; door, threshold, bason, posts, bowls, gates, cup; a spreading out, basin, goblet, bowl; sill, door-keeper

... doorkeeper; to stand at or guard the threshold

... root meaning to hold together; a kind of owl

... bag; purse; variant; for weights, money

... a drinking vessel; metaph. one's lot or experience, whether joyous or adverse, divine appointments, whether favourable or unfavourable, are likened to a cup which God presents one to drink; so of prosperity and adversity

... to drink; figuratively, to receive into the soul what serves to refresh, strengthen, and nourish it unto life eternal

Just a misplaced "footnote" ...

Throughout this site you will see far too many pictures of me! To clarify and establish that I'm not in love with myself (although I do love myself now because He taught me that), I'll say up front, that I "splattered and scattered" these here intentionally.

So why did I do this? I've come to love taking pictures? I love artistry? Yes and no. The main reason is that it speaks out on behalf of the message in the Izzy 2010 Newsletter.

You can't get away from me - you can't forget me - when every two seconds another photo of me appears before you. Yes, it can get irritating, annoying, etc., etc. And you can think that I think, well, that it's ALL about ME!

Do you know that God is that very same way in our lives? Oh, yes, He is! I'm so thankful that He is. Had He not been in my way, all my days, I know I would not have given Him the time of day. I wouldn't remember Him. You see what I'm saying, right?

O, how I want to remember Him, every moment of every day and night. The greatest and most repetitive prayer, living and burning in my heart is, "God, don't let me EVER get away from You; not even for a moment! Please, keep me CLOSE! Keep me following hard after You! For there is coming that day, Lord, and I want to be translated without any riff; like I'm already there - on this side!"

So each time you see me on this site, let it act as a nudge to you, to look for Him and His appearing in your life in much the same way!

His presence can get annoying, if you're not "into Him". He can get in your way, if it's not His way that you're going in. Those are indicators that you need to check your heart and life - immediately!

Psalm 139:23,24 - Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts; and see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Jeremiah 17:9 - The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it?

Beloved, watch over your heart ...

Proverbs 4:23 - Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

When your heart is right, this is how you will feel about His appearing:

1 John 3:2,3 - Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Glory!
